Hello, all you soon to be tattooed!
I'm Laura. My first experience at a tattoo shop is typical of many people’s I think. When I was 18 my friends and I went to Steve's in Madison. Scared out of my mind, I got my first tattoo on a whim. However, that first time in a shop opened my eyes to an entirely new form of art, and sparked my interest, which never left me.
My entire life, I was surrounded by art. My dad was a commercial artist, and anytime he was painting or tinkering in the basement, I was right there painting, or drawing, too. In fact, the only thing I remember impressing people of growing up, was my art. School and sports were never my strong point.
So, when I graduated high school, I thought I would try going to college... Then I flunked out. After a few years of working in a factory, I thought I’d try school again. That time it took. I graduate in 2001 with a bachelors in fine art from UW Oshkosh and had no idea what I was going to do for money. I became a bartender and met my husband who was covered in tattoos and was good friends with the crew at Steve’s in Oshkosh. So here I am.
I LOVE MY JOB! I try to go through life with a smile on my face and laughter in my heart...and try to portray that to all my customers on a daily basis. I enjoy doing all tattoos...not just the custom work. I love that every tattoo brings new people and challenges to me. So come on in to see me at Steve’s in Oshkosh!
